Umar Adamu is a graduate of the University of Ghana (UG) and the University of professional studies Accra (UPSA). He obtained Bachelor Degree in accounting and a member of Institute of Chartered of Accountants Ghana (ICAG). He is currently the Executive Director of Society and Youth Development (SYD) and also Youth Development Activist and runs consultancy services on youth matters.

He is an Executive Member of Young Professional and Youth Coalition (YPYC and a member of the National Youth Authority (NYA) Greater Accra and Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition (GACC) He is also an alumnae of the Anglophone West Africa Youth Integrity Camp training in Lagos, Nigeria
